Product Overview

Cyclohexane, CAS No. 110-82-7, is a colorless, transparent, highly volatile liquid with a gasoline-like odor. Industrially, it is mainly produced through the catalytic hydrogenation of pure benzene; our supply also comes from by-products of cyclohexanone production facilities, ensuring stable supply and controllable costs. Cyclohexane is a typical non-polar cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon solvent with strong dissolving power for oils, resins, rubber, and waxes, while being almost insoluble in water, with a moderate evaporation rate and low residue. Its largest application is as an intermediate that is oxidized to produce cyclohexanone and adipic acid, thereby entering the nylon industry chain; in the solvent field, it is widely used for cleaning, paint formulation, and oil/fat extraction.

Product Uses

  1. Cyclohexanone Raw Material: Oxidized to produce cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol (KA oil), serving as an upstream material in the nylon 6 and nylon 66 industry chains.
  2. Adipic Acid Raw Material: After oxidation to produce KA oil (cyclohexanol/cyclohexanone), it is further oxidized with nitric acid to produce adipic acid.
  3. Solvent Cleaning: Used for degreasing and cleaning metal parts and precision components, as well as for dissolving rubber and resins.
  4. Paint Thinner: Used as a diluent and true solvent for coatings and inks.
  5. Pesticides and Pharmaceuticals: Used as a reaction and crystallization solvent for the production of pesticide technical materials and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Packaging and Storage/Transportation

Packaging: Typically packaged in 200L galvanized iron drums, with a net weight of approximately 155 kg per drum. Large quantities are shipped in bulk via ISO tank containers or tank trucks.

Storage: This is a Class 3 flammable liquid, UN No. 1145, with a flash point of approximately -20°C, making it highly flammable. It must be stored in a cool, well-ventilated Class A hazardous materials warehouse, with a warehouse temperature not exceeding 30°C, away from ignition sources and heat, with open flames and smoking strictly prohibited. Lighting, ventilation, and all electrical equipment in the warehouse must be explosion-proof, and containers and pipelines must be reliably grounded and bonded to prevent static electricity accumulation. It should be stored separately from oxidizers.

Transportation: Must be transported in accordance with Class 3 flammable liquid regulations, and vehicles must be equipped with flame arrestors, static-electricity-discharging ground straps, and fire-fighting equipment. Flow rate should be controlled during loading and unloading to prevent static electricity, open flames and non-explosion-proof electrical devices are strictly prohibited in the work area, and operations during high-temperature periods in summer should be avoided.
