Product Introduction
Propylene Glycol Methyl Ether Acetate (abbreviated as PMA or PMAC), CAS No. 108-65-6, is a colorless and transparent liquid with a faint ester aroma. It is industrially produced by the esterification of propylene glycol methyl ether with acetic acid. PMA combines both ether and ester functional groups in its structure, giving it extremely strong solvency capable of dissolving nitrocellulose, acrylic resins, polyester, epoxy, polyurethane, and nearly all coating resins. It also features a moderate evaporation rate, low surface tension, and excellent anti-blushing performance, earning it a reputation as one of the most comprehensively balanced high-grade coating solvents. It is a low-toxicity substitute for ethylene glycol ether acetates (such as ethylene glycol ethyl ether acetate) and is widely used in automotive paints, electronic photolithography, and high-grade wood coatings.

Product Applications
- High-grade Coatings: Used as the primary true solvent for automotive OEM paints, refinish coatings, coil coatings, and wood coatings, preventing blushing of the coating film and improving leveling and fullness;
- Electronic Chemicals: Used as a photoresist solvent and diluent, and for LCD and semiconductor process cleaning (electronic-grade PMA);
- Inks: Used as a high-boiling solvent for screen printing, gravure printing, and UV inks;
- Adhesives and Ink/Equipment Cleaning: Used in polyurethane adhesive formulation and printing equipment cleaning;
- Others: Used as a pesticide emulsifiable concentrate solvent component and industrial paint remover component.
Packaging, Storage & Transportation
Packaging: Standard packaging in 185kg or 200L galvanized iron drums; for large volumes, shipped in bulk via 1000L IBC totes, ISO tank containers, or tank trucks; electronic-grade product uses clean drums with lead seals.
Storage: Classified as a Class 3 flammable liquid, UN No. 3272, with a flash point of approximately 45°C. Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse for flammable liquids, with warehouse temperature not exceeding 35°C, away from fire sources and heat. Electrical and ventilation equipment must be explosion-proof, and containers must be grounded to prevent static electricity. Store separately from oxidizing agents, strong acids, and strong alkalis (this product is prone to hydrolysis upon contact with strong alkalis). Containers must be sealed to prevent moisture absorption, which could cause hydrolysis and increase acidity.
Transportation: Transported in accordance with Class 3 flammable liquid regulations; vehicles must be equipped with flame arresters and firefighting equipment. Handle gently during loading and unloading to prevent damage; electronic-grade product requires dedicated vehicles to prevent cross-contamination affecting metal ion specifications.
