Product Introduction
Isooctanol (2-Ethylhexanol), CAS No. 104-76-7, is the same compound as Octanol under a different trade name; this entry is listed separately per the product classification list, with specifications identical to Octanol. The product is a colorless and transparent liquid with a distinctive aromatic alcohol odor. Industrially, it is produced from propylene and syngas through carbonylation (hydroformylation), condensation, hydrogenation, and refining distillation, making it the most important variety among C8 alcohols. Isooctanol is primarily used as a plasticizer alcohol, and also serves as a key raw material for defoamers, dispersants, mineral flotation agents, and petroleum additives. We can provide long-term, stable supply backed by our integrated upstream facilities.

Product Applications
- Plasticizer Raw Material: Esterified with phthalic anhydride or terephthalic acid to produce plasticizers such as DOP, DOTP, and DOA, used in PVC cable compounds, flooring, and artificial leather;
- Defoamers and Wetting Agents: Used for defoaming and wetting in water-based coatings, papermaking, and fermentation industries;
- Mineral Flotation Agent: Used as a flotation frother in non-ferrous and non-metallic ore beneficiation;
- Petroleum and Lubrication: Used to produce lubricating oil anti-wear agents, pour point depressants, and diesel additives;
- Solvents and Additives: Used in paints, inks, textile printing/dyeing auxiliaries, and film photosensitive materials.
Packaging, Storage & Transportation
Packaging: Standard packaging in 170kg or 200L iron drums; for large volumes, shipped in bulk via 1000L IBC totes, ISO tank containers, or tank trucks.
Storage: Not classified as a hazardous chemical (flash point approximately 82°C); stored as general cargo or Category C combustible liquid. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from fire sources, heat sources, and strong oxidizing agents. Keep containers sealed to prevent moisture absorption, and avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure, which could cause an increase in color.
Transportation: Transported as general cargo. During loading and unloading, protect against rain exposure, contamination, and packaging damage; transport equipment must be clean and dry, avoiding mixed loading with materials that have strong odors.
