Product Introduction
Polymeric Diphenylmethane Diisocyanate, grade PM200, CAS No. 9016-87-9, is a brown liquid and the highest-volume, most widely used general-purpose polymeric MDI grade produced domestically. It is composed of MDI monomer and its polymers, with an average functionality of 2.6~2.7, moderate viscosity, excellent flowability, and good foaming stability, with broad adaptability to various formulation systems, widely suited to a range of rigid foam processes including refrigerators, boards, spraying, and casting. PM200 has similar performance to M20S and 44V20L and can be used interchangeably in most formulations, with specific grade selection determined based on the customer’s equipment conditions and formulation system. This product is solvent-free with a low vapor pressure, offering better workplace environmental friendliness than TDI.

Product Applications
- Rigid Insulation Foam: Used to produce insulation layers for refrigerators and freezers, PUR/PIR architectural insulation boards, cold storage panels, pipeline insulation, and solar water tank insulation;
- Spray and Pour-in-Place Foaming: Used for roof and exterior wall polyurethane spray insulation, on-site pour-in-place applications, and waterproofing/leak repair;
- Automotive and Semi-Rigid Foam: Used to produce automotive components such as instrument panels, steering wheels, headliners, sound-absorbing pads, and bumpers;
- Flexible Self-Skinning and High-Resilience Foam: Used in self-skinning foam, high-resilience flexible foam, and packaging cushioning materials;
- Adhesives and Engineered Wood: Used as a formaldehyde-free MDI binder for straw board, particleboard, engineered wood, and structural foam.
Packaging, Storage & Transportation
Packaging: Standard packaging in 250kg galvanized iron drums (nitrogen-blanketed), 4 drums/pallet; for large volumes, shipped in bulk via 1250kg IBC totes, ISO tank containers, or tank trucks; a 20GP container can accommodate 80 drums.
Storage: Not classified as a hazardous chemical; stored as general cargo, but must be strictly protected from moisture. The optimal storage temperature is 15~35°C, with a shelf life of generally 6~12 months under sealed, moisture-protected conditions. Temperatures above 35°C or moisture exposure will cause an irreversible increase in viscosity and the formation of polyurea precipitate; below 15°C, pumping becomes difficult; below 0°C, crystallization may occur. Once a container is opened, it must be immediately resealed and nitrogen-blanketed. Must be stored away from water, alcohols, amines, strong alkalis, and oxidizing agents.
Transportation: Transported as general cargo (non-hazardous). Strictly avoid rain exposure and impact during loading and unloading, to prevent water ingress through packaging damage. Personnel must wear penetration-resistant gloves and goggles, and maintain good ventilation in the work area; isocyanates are sensitizing, and local exhaust ventilation and emergency flushing facilities are recommended.
