Product Introduction
Calcium Chloride, CAS No. 10043-52-4, is a white granular, powder, or flake solid, highly hygroscopic and deliquescent, and generates strong exothermic heat when dissolved in water. Industrially, it is mainly derived from the calcium chloride mother liquor by-product of the ammonia-soda process for soda ash production, concentrated by evaporation; a neutralization process using hydrochloric acid and limestone is also available. We routinely supply two specifications: calcium chloride dihydrate (74% flake/powder) and anhydrous calcium chloride (94% granular/powder). The core value of calcium chloride lies in its extremely strong hygroscopic capacity and significant freezing point depression effect (can lower the freezing point to -50°C), making it the preferred inorganic salt for industrial desiccants, deicing agents, and construction early-strength agents. It also has wide applications in oil drilling, food processing, and refrigeration heat-transfer fluids.

Product Applications
- Deicing and dust suppression: Used as a road deicing agent (freezing point can be lowered to -50°C, superior to sodium chloride) and as a dust suppressant for mining areas and roads;
- Desiccant: Used as an industrial gas and liquid desiccant, packaging moisture absorber, and building material moisture-proofing agent;
- Construction early-strength agent: Used as a concrete early-strength agent and set accelerator for winter construction (note: contains chloride ions, so dosage must be controlled for reinforced concrete);
- Oil drilling: Used as a drilling fluid weighting agent and density regulator for completion fluids and fracturing fluids;
- Food and other applications: Used as a food-grade coagulant (tofu coagulation, fruit and vegetable firming agent), chelating agent, and refrigeration heat-transfer fluid, and also used in wastewater treatment and the production of various calcium salts.
Packaging, Storage, and Transportation
Packaging: Standard packaging in 25kg woven bags with plastic film liners; for large volumes, 1000kg jumbo bags are available.
Storage: Not classified as a hazardous chemical; store as general cargo. Must be stored in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse, with strict sealing and moisture protection — this product is extremely hygroscopic, and open storage will quickly cause it to absorb water, deliquesce into liquid, and cake, resulting in a significant drop in content. Keep away from water sources and damp ground, store on raised platforms, and keep packaging intact. Must be stored separately from acids, oxidizers, and moisture-sensitive materials. Bags must be resealed immediately after opening.
Transportation: Transport as general cargo, with strict protection against rain exposure and moisture throughout. During loading and unloading, handle gently to prevent packaging damage and water ingress; rain tarps must be used in rainy or snowy weather. Operators are recommended to wear dust masks, protective goggles, and gloves (this product is irritating to the eyes and skin). When preparing solutions, add material slowly and be mindful of the exothermic heat of dissolution, to avoid localized rapid temperature rise and splashing.
